Joseph received two prophetic dreams from God telling him of his future.
The first dream, showed Joseph and his brothers out in the field gathering sheaves and all the brothers sheaves bowed down to his sheaf.
This was a prophecy of the future.
It made the brothers livid with anger.
The second time Joseph dreamed, he saw the Sun, Moon and Eleven Stars bow down to him.
God was preparing him to save the whole family.
He declared it.
If he had kept these things a secret, the brethren would not have got angry; he would never have been betrayed and would never have gotten to the stage where God’s purpose was fulfilled.
Jacob himself, previously had dreams and revelations from God. He took note and observed.
Because of his past experience there was really no reason, why Jacob could not have believed along with Joseph.
The first dream just talked about the brethren; however the second included the parents.
